Mora boys grabbed the Men’s SLUG Basketball title for the second consecutive time, remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament, defeating the Sabragamuwa University of Sri Lanka in emphatic fashion at the finals. The final scores read: UOM 72 – SUSL 59.
The tournament was held from 2nd to 5th of September at MIANI basketball court in Batticaloa. Moratuwa were the defending champions. The winning team was coached by Sriyantha Jayaweera while Minidu Fonseka functioned as his deputy. Moratuwa University was led by Rukshan Athapaththu and GImhan Ranasinghe was the vice-captain.
This victory represents the culmination of endless hours of practice, hard work, and determination displayed on the court. It’s a testament to the strength of our team, which extends well beyond the 12 players on the court.
