The Mora boys claimed the second runners-up position in the Men’s Inter-University Games 2024 basketball tournament. They fought hard throughout the competition, demonstrating resilience and skill. However, they fell short in the semi-finals, securing a commendable third-place finish.
The tournament was held from September 14th to 18th at the University of Peradeniya basketball court in Peradeniya. The team was led by Aathavan Nithiyananthan, with Nisanthan Sivarasa as vice-captain. Sriyantha Jayaweera served as the head coach, and Nidul Dulsara was his assistant.
Their journey to the podium is a testament to their dedication, with countless hours of practice and teamwork paving the way for this achievement. Despite not defending their title, the Mora team showcased a strong spirit and determination that resonated well beyond the 12 players on the court.
